Working autonomously, you will need to respond quickly and confidently to whatever comes along, including repairs to video, audio, communications and RF systems, plus mechanical failures of satellite dishes, and generators. You will have experience in ground station and/or mobile satellite units, strong customers service skills and knowledge of broadcast engineering. You must be able to cope under pressure and be prepared to work unsociable hours, sometimes at short notice. You will be expected to work overseas, including areas of conflict. You will also need a Class C1 driving licence and you will spend a significant amount of time driving mobile satellite trucks around the UK and beyond.
