A leading manufacturer of Audio monitoring, Mains Distribution and Tally systems products that are sold to broadcast customers worldwide is looking to recruit a test technician.

Growth and the need for improving efficiency have led to the need of an experienced Test Technician/Engineer to play a key role in testing and fault finding of their products and helping improve departmental efficiency in this small but busy production test department.

This role requires the clear ability to test, repair and fault find audio visual monitoring equipment, under monitoring displays and tally systems, including the testing and commissioning of custom equipment to specification. A key requirement is the ability to interpret circuit diagrams and fault find to component level and ensure products are safety tested to Electricity-at-Work Regulations and health and safety working practices are adhered to.

• Reports to the Supervisor – Production Department

WORKS WITH:

• Directly with the Director of Engineering and Production DepartmentSupervisor
• Indirectly with Product Managers

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Principal mandates

• Testing, repairing and maintenance of audio monitoring equipment and UMD tally systems.
• Assistance in the creation, maintenance and the updating of records.
• Assistance in the compilation of test specifications, procedures and production aids.

Specific responsibilities

• Testing and fault finding of all broadcast equipment
• Assistance in the development of test procedures
• Assistance in the provision of technical records

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:

·Five years experience in Test or Production engineering environments

• Qualified to HNC, C&G.L.I. Full Tech Cert. or equivalent
• Experience of testing and fault finding of analogue and digital equipment
• Knowledge of Electricity-at-Work regulations
• Able to develop and assist in the development of test jigs and fixtures
• Highly quality and customer focused with excellent attention to detail.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload effectively.
